Evaluation Question 5

Evaluation Question 5 response 1

1)  Are you able to notice themes and issues that are considered important to your age group? - When I asked this question I got very positive feedback as the person I asked told me that the themes and issues are very clear to the audience. This is very important to me because I wanted to clearly convey what the themes and issues were and I felt because of this response that I have effectively done this.

2) Do the long takes used have an effect of continuation in the intro? - When I asked this question the feedback was positive as he said the long takes have an effect of continuation in the intro which is really good because I wanted  to show that there was some sort of equilibrium for the character and nothing has gone wrong. This is significant because I wanted to create a calm atmosphere for the male character and from the feedback in this response it shows I have clearly done this.

3) Are the production titles too flashy for the genre of Social Realism? - It is very important that the productions are not too flashy for the genre of social realism and that is what the feedback has reflected. This is very significant because I wanted to fit the genre of social realism within the vanity title sequence. This is positive feedback because and feel I have positively succeeded in the success criteria.

4) Did the colour scheme relate to the tone and feel of the film? - The feedback was very helpful and positive. He said the colour scheme used gave a depressing feeling to the film which was what I wanted to achieve, and to do this I used the custom white balance technology on the camera given which gave the intro a feel of depression and dark feeling. This was very significant for me to film my intro with this white balance technology as it helped me fulfill my overall target to get a depressing tone to the intro as I feel is about a very common theme of a relationship break up.

5) Which aspects of the characters can you relate to? - This feedback was a bit vague on what I was expecting. This is because I wanted to try and get a character which most people can relate to but is very difficult because not everyone has been in a position of a relationship break-up so this was a big challenge when thinking about the characters.

6) you identify the locations being used, relatable to the theme of Social Realism? - This was important but wasn't a big challenge in doing for my intro. This is because my film didn't have a budget so I had to film it in everyday locations.

7) type of sound effects should be used with the vanity titles? - This feedback is very helpful because it tells me which sound goes best with the vanity titles. This is significant to me as it tells me what some individuals want from the production titles and helps me understand what the audience wants out of this introductory sequence.

8) Which of these film titles attract you best to this film? - The feedback to this question tells me what opinion people have on the vanity titles and is very important to me that I go with the vanity titles which goes best with the intro and genre of social realism. This is significant because I want to successfully know what the audience wants from my introductory sequence.

Evaluation Question 5 response 2

1) How has the title sequences represented the genre of Social Realism? - This feedback was helpful and as the person said they are quite subtle which I was trying to aim for and in this person's perspective I have successfully done this. This is very significant because I am happy that I have successfully done the titles to fit the social realism genre.

2) Are you able to notice themes and issues that are considered important to your age group? -  The feedback to this question was very helpful as the person said that through the use of camerawork and technical codes that the themes and issues were noticeable and he considered it important to his age group. This is very significant because through the answer given the person has specifically said what was good about my introductory sequence and how he noticed them which is very helpful feedback.

3) Do the long takes used have an effect of continuation in the intro? - This feedback to this question wasn't very helpful as the answer to it was "yes". But is still significant as it shows that the long takes used have an effect of continuation in the intro which is very important to the genre of social realism.

4) Are the production titles too flashy for the genre of Social Realism? - The feedback was very helpful to me as the person said that the production titles are fine but the sound effects with the vanity titles are a bit too much. This is very significant to my media product as to attract audiences I could change the vanity title sound effects to maybe attract more people to my film introductory sequence.

5) How did the colour scheme relate to the tone and feel of the film? - This feedback was very useful because he said that in the colour scheme their isn't any bright or bold colours. I wanted to get that effect because the tone of the introductory sequence is meant to be a dark tone as it is about a serious theme that often happens to people and I feel as the director that the dull and grey colours help to make the scenes involved with the film.

6) Which aspects of the characters can you relate to? - The feedback given to me on this question was helpful as this person can see how the characters are relatable to people in their everyday lives which is very good to know that I have successfully done this as my aim was to try and get the characters relatable to my audience.

7) Can you identify the locations being used, relatable to the theme of Social Realism? - There wasn't much feedback on this question but still helps me on what others think of my media product as he said that the locations are realistic which is what I wanted audiences to get out of my introductory sequence. I wanted this because it shows the audience that the characters used are everyday people and that they are untrained and goes to the same locations as everyone else.

8) What type of sound effects should be used with the production titles? - Again this wasn't much feedback as the person I interviewed didn't give me much to go on as he said something more subtle, but this is still significant because he has said that the production titles used are too much and would prefer something quicker and subtle which is still helpful to help me develop my introductory sequence.

9) Which of these film titles attract you best to this film? - This feedback was very helpful as he said that production title 'A' was the one that would attract him best to my film, production title 'A' is the production company used in my introductory sequence which is 'Beacon School Production'. So this feedback was massively important to me and I took it into consideration and put it as one of my main film production companies.

10) What sound effects with the vanity titles will attract you best to this film? - This was very helpful as the person gave me an example on what vanity title effect would attract him best to the film which is very helpful, and because of this feedback I have a chime effect put in the 3rd vanity title and a twinkle sound in my 2nd vanity title.
