Camera 1 and Evaluation

Evaluation

I think this exercise I'v successfully shown a different range of shots. I did a different a range of different shots, they are:

  • Close ups
  • Mid - shots
  • Long shot
What went well was that I clearly shown the different types of shots used and tried to show a wide range.

Camera III White balance and Evaluation

Evaluation

In this exercise I think I have successfully shown white balance clearly and how to use it. In each shot I have shown the different types of white balance and has clearly shown in the video what ones they are.

Camera IV attempt 5 and Evaluation

Evaluation

In this fifth attempt again the full shot was not successfully done, but the lead room and head room has improved so much since the first attempt.

Camera IV attempt 4 and Evaluation

Evaluation

In this fourth attempt the lead room was clearly shown and the head room was so much better than the last attempt but again I fail to succeed in the full shot.

Camera IV attempt 3 and Evaluation

Evaluation

In this third attempt I think I've improved since the last shot but the full shot wasn't successfully completed as it cut the ankles out of the shot. I felt I left enough lead room to show the way the character was moving towards. The head room again was too much and I need to work on this significantly to be able to pass this exercise.

Camera IV attempt 2 and Evaluation

Evaluation

In this camera movement exercise I thought the movement of the camera was smooth and I didn't go too fast when moving the camera. I thought the lead room was good but felt it was better in my first attempt. I need to improve on the head room as there is too much space left of the top part of the frame. A strength of this was that I was able to keep the full shot near to size.

Camera IV attempt 1 and Evalutation

Evaluation

My first attempt on the camera movement I thought was very poor. I thought this because I left too much head room from the person to the top of the frame. I also noticed that when doing this attempt when following the person moving I noticed that the movement of the camera was too fast. The shot I was meant to do was a full shot and I haven't successfully done this. I thought the lead room was the good part of this first attempt as it was clearly shown.

Key criteria for Camera Movement

Camera Movement

Camera movement is the fluid motion in which the camera is moved when filming. The term 'camera movement' is also known as 'fluid in the head'. Panning and tilting the camera become involved in camera movement.

Head Room

Head room is the distance between the top of the persons head and the top of the frame, there should be a centimeter between the persons head and the top of the frame if in a close up shot. Rule of thirds is when the persons eyes are a third of the way down from the top of the frame.

Nose room

Nose room is the space in front, and in the direction, of stationary or moving faces.

Lead room

Lead room is the space in front, and in the direction, of stationary or moving bodies and objects. There should be space in the direction the person is facing or moving.

Smoothness

Smoothness is relating to how steady the camera is while the person is moving and is trying to make the movement as fluidly as possible.

Anticipatory framing

Anticipatory framing is when you plan to follow a person moving and will need to become proficient at anticipatory framing. If the frame is anticipated correctly the movement of the frame fluidly constantly ensure sufficient headroom and lead room.
